
Summer Season of Regattas
The summer is upon us with the start of the Regatta and Family week sailing events around our coastline. Open Regattas or junior Weeks are held throughout the summer holiday season often attracting visitors to events. Clevedon's John Ashley 2017
The 2017 John Ashley Long Distance race took place on Sunday 2nd July. The weather was bright and sunny with wind speeds of 4 knots. Race officer Mark Houle set a challenging course, heading first to the Bandstand buoy, then out to the Clevedon buoy, up the channel to the Avon buoy and back to the Pier. 2017 Supernova National Championships
Well what an event the 2017 Allen Hartley Boats Plymouth 2017 Nationals has been. From 27knots of base wind speed on Friday gusting up to 35 knots, spitting rain and cloudy with just about everyone going swimming at some point. Followed by a breezy Saturday morning of 17knots reducing throughout the day, but very sunny and a few lobster faces throughout the fleet. Lobster award for 2017 has to go to Tim Hand - great effort!
