The 2017 RYA Youth National Championships took place 8-14th April at Hayling Island SC, with many youngsters coming from all around the country to compete in their respective class. After an agonising wait at the end of the final race, it was finally confirmed that 17-year-old Bella Fellows from Yealm YC in Plymouth and crew Anna Sturrock had come out on top of the standings in the Girl's 29er fleet.
The girls finished just sixteen points ahead of their closest rivals over the series of ten races, with Freya Black, crewed by Orla Mitchell coming in second.
Next up, Fellows and Sturrock are looking to pit themselves against the very best in their class, as they complete in the international events that are taking place across Europe this summer.
